I’ve stated on a previous occasion my belief that George W. Bush is NOT a Christian. Sure, he gives some religious jargon (and most liberals think he’s a prototypical Evangelical), but Bush clearly thinks (based on his own words) that there are multiple paths to salvation – a clear opposing view to TRUE Christianity. Plus, he likes to suck-up to the apostate pope, so that affirms his departure from sound biblical doctrine.
Now, George is taking his show on the road – and continuing to tuck his tail between his legs:
WASHINGTON — Aides organizing President Bush’s trip to China for the Olympics considered having him worship at a house church, one of the underground religious institutions that routinely face official harassment, but the Chinese authorities ruled it out.
Pastors, lawyers and other political activists whom Mr. Bush considered meeting in Beijing as a signal of support have instead been ordered by the Chinese authorities to leave the city during the president’s visit. Scores of others have been arrested.
Click the title to read the entire New York Times article, but you get the gist of the story. Clearly George is a lame-duck, so what could he stand to lose if he actually defended the Cross and visited a home church. Instead, the real Christians get more persecution.
But of course he’ll visit a state-sanctioned church (don’t laugh, it’ll happen here soon as the apostasy continues) so as not to “offend” his hosts:
While he evidently will not worship at an underground church, Mr. Bush does plan to attend services on Sunday at the Beijing Kuanjie Protestant Church, one of the most prominent of those officially registered by the government. (And then, that night, he will watch Kobe Bryant and the rest of USA Basketball play China.)
I guess we shouldn’t be surprised – what else would you expect from a politician. Hopefully, George will repent of his allegiances to all manner of false gospel and teachers and return to the True and Living God before it’s too late:
Matthew 10:32-34 (New American Standard Bible)
32“Therefore (A)everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven.
33“But (B)whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.
34“(C)Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
