Quid Pro Quo – “Something For Something”

Pulpit pimps are extremely successful in shaking you down for your hard-earned money because they’ve convinced you that if you give God money, then He will open up the windows of Heaven and drown you in Bentley’s, free homes, endless cash, and “favor” in the world.

They’ve butchered Malachi 3:10 so much that you don’t even bother to read the entire book of Malachi to see God’s words in their clear context.

So, in the classic concept of “quid pro quo”, you give “something” to get “something” else.

Never mind the Apostle’s clear warning against “quid pro quo”:

Acts 8:20 (New American Standard Bible)

20But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could (A)obtain the gift of God with money!

Of course, the pimps have to find a way to grease the dough from your hands, so they come up with catchy bible-esque sounding mantra’s, creeds, and “confessions” to make you feel like your breakthrough is on the way – AFTER you give your weekly “seed” for the building campaign.

Our brother Independent Conservative wrote an excellent post exploring this lying, deceitful concept:

Insane Prosperity Cult Giving Chants!

When at various places that promote the false prosperity doctrine, I noticed many places have various unbiblical chants. That they recite in their proclamation that THEY’VE GOT SOME BIG MONEY COMING THEIR WAY. At many places that do this sort of thing, the pulpit pimps usually have it recited by everyone during the time people are about to show how duped they are and give the pimp more of their money. So they can do things like hope God gives them lunch money for the week, while they give 10%+ away to the pimp and mistakenly believe they are fulfilling a “church tithe”.

PLEASE click the title and read the entire article – it will blow your mind to know what the pimps are resorting to in order to continue extorting God’s people.

And if you find yourself reciting the same inane garbage, this might be a sign that you need to flee the pimp and find an assembly that is Christ-centered, and not man-centered.

Nice post and nice contributing piece from IC. keep sounding the alarm brother. The Club Goers over at “Club Hustle & Flow” need to hear the truth! I hit this topic of “Quid Pro Quo” a bit here:

Giving is a matter of the heart! You must never give to get. I’d rather for a pimp to be honest and say “they” need your money to pay bills and quit saying God needs (requires) your money.I’d rather for them to just say “it’s tight” and we can’t pay the bills (including their salaries)around the club!

It’s a very subtle form of suggestion and hypnosis when you get folks to chant garbage like this in the sort of mass numbers you get in a church service. It’s also greed and lust for power, but I’m sure you already know that, ST 😉

You’re exactly right Doug, it is hypnosis – pure and simple.

It’s also intimidation because as a leader you wouldn’t dare be caught not reciting the givers confession.

I thank God daily that I got away from pimp Landers…

I know the feeling somewhat partially, since I was the pastor’s oldest kid – if I didn’t do it, not only did I risk the scowling faces of the nosy church folks [who I didn’t love very much to my own shame]- I also risked the whooping of a lifetime for acting disrepectful.

Intimidation works very well in Pentecostal/Charismatic circles, since the man of God is “annnnointed” and can curse you. I’ve had my dad curse me [sometimes with debatable language] for using “God’s tithes” to buy books. Giving is one thing – cursing me for my little money sounds more like Balaam than the Apostles…
