Another Example of Religious Gimmickry

DISCLAIMER: In accordance to Ephesians 6:10-18, please pray before viewing or listening to any of Todd Bentley’s (or Patricia King’s) video or audio recordings. The only way to combat the evil of this day is with the unadulterated Word of God.

<———————————————>

I don’t even know if gimmickry is a real word, but if it was it would surely apply to the video below.

Patricia King ( close colleague of false prophet Todd Bentley) is a bonafide false prophet who resorts to false signs and wonders to deceive the people of God. In the video, she can barely “minister” because the “Glory of God is so thick” in her studio:

This is a false, misleading sham. All of her moaning and groaning may be better described as…well, it’s not of God.

Period.

A specific scripture comes to mind when I see this demonic attempt to counterfeit the Gospel:

24“For false Christs and (A)false prophets will arise and will show great (B)signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even (C)the elect. (Matthew 24:24)

In fact, if you read the entire 24th chapter of the book of Matthew, you’ll see that Jesus specifically discussed what we should look for before His return – a must read for every saint during these last days.

Do you think I’m being reactionary and overzealous? Well here’s more of Patricia’s craziness:

This woman and her ilk are dangerous because their cheap parlor tricks are accepted by most “Christians” as being verifiable incidents of God’s manifestation. It’s a deception from the devil, used to persuade the weak in the faith to follow an antichrist.

Please stay away from Todd Bentley, Patricia King, or ANYONE who uses cheap tricks under the false pretense of acting in concert with or on behalf of our Lord.

Please read Colossians 2:8 and Colossians 2:18 for Paul’s warning against this garbage.

If you are a mature saint, please join me in praying that the eyes of God’s children would be open to such deception – and that they don’t inadvertently pledge allegiance to the antichrist by submitting to this blasphemous garbage.

Oh, and I WILL NOT entertain any comments from apologists of these false prophets, liars, and disciples of the devil.

***hat tip to Independent Conservative and A Little Leaven for the videos***

In the past, I also followed a “pimp”;but God set me free after I started seriously studying His Word. May God continue to bless you as you minister to His people.

To God be the Glory, Liz.

Praise God for His liberating grace – I pray that you strengthen yourself in Him continually!

“Oh, and I WILL NOT entertain any comments from apologists of these false prophets, liars, and disciples of the devil.” — RIGHT ON! They apparently can’t understand what the Holy Words of GOD say anyway…or refuse to. You don’t even need to get very deep with explaining how some things contradict the Holy Bible…but some who delight in delusions just twist and turn and shuffle around the Scriptures so strangely to support their hollow claims it seems pointless (not directed at those who are truly looking for the Way, Truth and the Life… this is for the ones who know full well what they are doing and whom they are serving).

I don’t think the woman is acting, I really believe she believes what she is saying and really is experiencing something while she is speaking. She says she was receiving a ‘download’?

I know there have been some eccentric prophets before, but this impartation of whatever sort cannot be confirmed or assured, or proven through the WORD of God. They have no understanding, they have no discernment; therefore they are Lost. They KNOW NOT what they worship.

I can only hope and pray these people who follow such will awaken to this deception.

Keep blowing the trumpet and sounding the alarm.

Blessings be upon you in the Name of our Lord Jesus.

You have got to be kidding!!! What kind of new age nonsense is this? This reminds me of something John McArthur said a few years ago. He was talking about the fact that true worship has two elements, the objective and the subjective. The subjective element would be our emotions, feelings, energetic expressions, etc. The objective element is the word of God. And the objective element ALWAYS governs the subjective element. People like Patricia King are emblematic of what is happening all to often in the church today. We have reversed the order of these two elements and opened ourselves up to any dog and pony show that comes along. I have read some of the comments on other sites from people trying to defend Todd Bentley. Every comment I read started with the subjective experiences. They used all of the usual WOF, charismatic buzzwords, (atmosphere, glory, manifestations,etc.). Then they would quote a scripture, out of context of course, to support their subjective approach. We must continue to contend for the faith, regardless of the opposition from the enemies of the Cross Of Christ. And like the great Apostle Paul, we must continue to warn “night and day, to the point of tears.” Keep standing, keep proclaiming. God Bless!

    Ken & Oxysmoron,

Both of you have supplied answers to each other’s posts:

    Oxysmoron said:

I agree, she’s experiencing something…instructions from the demons who inhabit her. But Ken hit the nail square on the head:

AMEN brother! I mentioned the same thing in a different post.

Because we’ve been so programmed by weak pastors/pimps to “react emotionally” to the Gospel message, we expect that our emotions are an accurate guage as to whether or not we understand and respond to the Gospel message. In other words, if we’re not crying, jerking around or babbling then the Gospel message hasn’t been received.

I always say that the harm of pimp pastors will be felt for generations to come, simply because they’ve foresaken sound bibilical teaching in order to make their audiences respond to emotional appeals – thus making it easier to grease money from palms.

Once you’ve broken the sheep down, you’ve made it easier for them to fall away from the faith and react to any demonic charlatan that pretends to be “holy”.

It’s all a sick and unfortunate scheme.

Wow…why should these people ever even bother to metion the name of Jesus Christ or God the Father? And as for the Holy Spirit,He needen’t rouse Himself for this crowd; for their shenanigans, ANY spirit will do, Holy or otherwise. Why don’t King, Bentley & Co. simply pack it in and declare their ‘church’ an Ashram?

First, they have ‘manifestations’ amongst the attendees that appear to be kundalini yoga with a christian gloss(check the ‘net for footage of the Rajnessh cult ‘worshipping’ their guru if you doubt). Then some fellow allows a couple of handfuls of oil to dribble through his fingers and it is hailed as a Miraculous Confirmation of his ‘anointing’ (“…it smelled of wine and oil…”). And finally, materializations of jewelry and ‘holy ash’ (or in this case what appears to be leftover ‘rave’ glitter). Pardon my snark, but really! What’s next; ‘holy’ ectoplasm exuding from someone’s nose and angels rapping on the tables? Although these folks are so crooked, perhaps they’d prefer bent spoons…

These are the same, and I mean the SAME tricks that the Indian ‘godmen’ use to deceive their flocks, complete with claims of healing and new revelations from ‘spiritual beings.’ You don’t need a prophetic gift to see how far this nonsense will go: all you need is Google and the ability to type ‘Sai Baba’ or ‘Indian godmen’ and follow the links. Obviously the apostates have…

    😆

You know, Brother K, you certainly have a way with words – it’s a wonder you even stayed at our former “church” as long as you did – with this much insight, I can imagine how hard it was to sit and hear the drivel that was coming from the “pulpit”.

At any rate, you’re right – the apostates are perfecting the art of false witness and “manifestation”. As transparent as it appears to you, me, and any other mature saint, there are still those who call on the Name of the Lord who will see this and declare that it is of God…again, based on their emotional reaction.

The saints better wake up, right NOW.

Looking at this crap and shaking your head and dismissing it doesn’t make it go away – calling it out and pointing back to the Word of God is the only way to help the immature see the TRUE and Living God!

Ken, you quote hits the target. I am near the 100th comment on my http://realchristianity.wordpress.com/2008/05/06/revival-shown-on-god-tv-or-is-it post and the defenders of Todd always seem to elevate the subjective above the objective as you said

So God now interrupts the preaching of His own Word? This is ridiculous! For a while I attended a Reformed Baptist church, and the Word was taught properly. I left my old church because stupidity like this was going on…and my dad was at the forefront. As far as I could tell, I needed 100% Bible and my old church was going towards -1000% Bible [bad maths but I trust it gets my badly made point across…]

  11. 11 Faceless May 22, 2008 at 6:57 pm

I think Patricia & Co are actually deceived. Pls pray for them. They are in desperate need of serious prayers.

  12. 12 Speaking Truth May 22, 2008 at 8:27 pm

I got your point Doug. We can only trust the sound, expository preaching of the bible. Period.

Oh, and I’m keeping your dad in my prayers – I understand that he hasn’t been himself since attending the Bentley “revival” here in the US.

Faceless, I agree that we should pray for people like Patricia – those who have been and are being deceived. However, if they continue to willfully and wholeheartedly exchange the truth of the Gospel for a lie – even when they (and those like them) have been shown the truth in God’s Holy Word, then their judgement has already been pronounced.

  13. 13 Douglas K. Adu-Boahen May 23, 2008 at 10:53 am

My point exactly. That’s why for a while before I attended the Baptist church I attended a Calvary Chapel. We may not have seen eye to eye on things, me being a Calvinist and everything, but there was a clear emphasis on teaching through the Bible verse-by-verse.

Will we witness Bentley crackin’ open his Bible and giving a verse-by-verse Bible study in front of all those folks out in Lakeland? We might have a long wait if we’re expecting to happen, while he’s runnin’ the show!
