A Pimp Robs The Sheep…Again

***UPDATE – MAY 21, 2008***

Well, thank God that a decent pastor in South Florida is cutting his ties with the degenerate pulpit pimp Danny Mundell:

Hallandale Beach church cuts ties with evangelist after Sun-Sentinel report

Preacher’s focus on fundraising raises questions

A Hallandale Beach church where the Rev. Daniel S. Mundell has held revivals and preached for nearly a year has cut ties with the evangelist, a church spokeswoman said Monday. The action came after the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported May 11 that Mundell had raised money for a church in Fort Lauderdale that he never built, solicited donations for overseas mission trips he never took and made predictions that followers said never came true.

“I told him he had to leave,” said Melody Gustafson, vice president of Good Shepherd Ministries, where Mundell has been preaching out of a storefront in a strip mall on Hallandale Beach Boulevard. “This is a 55-year-old ministry. I couldn’t let his scandal bring it down.” (click here for the entire article)

***ORIGINAL STORY***

Cast your eyes on the latest addition to the “Pulpit Pimping Gone Bad” series – Rev. Dan Mundell of Hallandale Beach (South Florida). Danny, a degenerate pimp who has been robbing God’s people for years, recently filed for bankruptcy – but not before his former wife pulled the lid off of their (formerly) opulent lifestyle:

Followers invested in S. Florida pastor’s gospel of wealth and say they saw little return

| South Florida Sun-Sentinel

To a chorus of “Amens” and “Thank You, Jesus,” the Rev. Daniel S. Mundell tells followers God will free them of debt, even make them millionaires. Then comes the sales pitch: Back up your faith with donations. Give, even if it’s your last $100. Write a check. Pay by credit card.

Preaching mostly to a low-income following, the Hallandale Beach-based evangelist has raised millions of dollars through services and crusades in South Florida and across the country.

Former followers say the only one who seemed to attain wealth was the preacher. (click here to read the entire article)

Go to the website and read the article in it’s entirety – and view the videos and photos of this degenerate reprobate in action over the years.

Also, take a gander at his former home below (he lost it because he wasn’t paying the mortgage) and his former wife (he lost her because he couldn’t keep his hands off of her – allegedly):

She looks very happy, doesn’t she?

Anyway, the article and accompanying story is replete with classic pulpit pimping techniques: begging for money from low-income church members, promising them that God is “going to bless” them, declaring that “there are going to be at least 75 millionaires in this room before I leave tonight!”, etc.

This wolf is particularly despicable because he travels across the South (mostly to poorer communities) getting his victims to perform as he commands (in one video he admonishes an older black woman to “jump up, turn around seven times, and say ‘I’m a millionaire’!”)…and she did it!

The article states that (my emphasis in bold):

Mundell’s message of “abundant living” helped the white preacher attract worshipers, most of them low- and middle-income blacks.

So, Mundell goes into poor communities, takes on a southern drawl with a hint of “blackness” in it (watch the videos and listen for yourself), twists scriptures, and commands “brotha’s and sista’s” to give him their money?

When I was a member of Club New Birth (a 99.5% black congregation) years ago, I was always bothered when the “non-black” visiting pimps that Eddie Long dragged into the pulpit thought it would be a great idea to “act black” when they preached.

I’m not ranting about race, but I always found it interesting that the “non-black” visiting pimps would prance around, roll their heads, “holy ghost” dance, and “act black” just to identify with their black audience.

When you see them on TV in their own churches, however (or visiting non-black congregations), they would speak “the King’s English”. Interesting indeed…

White ministers pandering to their black audiences…it’s disgusting.

The saddest part about this entire escapade is that the sheep would be able to spot this loser from a mile away if they studied the Word of God for themselves – and stopped believing the lie that God was just waiting to pour millions of dollars over their heads.

Look at this “Gold Dust” letter that the degenerate despicable loser Danny sends out to his victims begging them for their hard earned money. Are you kidding me?

If I sound angry, I am. These despicable degenerate “pastors” are really starting to get me worked up. Instead of sharing the TRUE Gospel of Jesus Christ and praying for the lost, they twist scripture like it’s a garbage bag tie and “prey” on the sheep.

Worst still, the sheep lap this garbage up and are “utterly surprised” when the degenerate pimp takes their money. Absolutely shameful.

This degenerate, worthless pimp is another prime example of Titus 1:16. Sadly, pimps like Mundell will keep reappearing because of our greed, lust of the flesh, and desire for material blessings.

Remember Timothy’s admonishement about “chasing paper”:

7For (P)we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either.

8If we (Q)have food and covering, with these we shall be content.

9(R)But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and (S)a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction.

10For (T)the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have (U)wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

11But (V)flee from these things, you (W)man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, (X)faith, (Y)love, perseverance and gentleness. (1 Timothy 6:7-11)

Please join me in praying that the sheep stop chasing after degenerate pimps who dangle prosperity before their eyes.

Watching the linked article’s embedded clips, I couldn’t help but be reminded of a documentary I’d rented from ‘Movies Worth Seeing’ right there in Atlanta (hint, hint ST) called ‘MARJOE” about former child preacher Marjoe Gortner. Winner of the Best Documentary Oscar 1972, it gives behind-the-scenes glimpses at the whole ‘Revival Circuit’ mentioned in the article…including an astonishing sequence where the preachers are greedily stuffing their pockets with wads of cash overflowing a king-sized bed while kvetching about the personal checks (which leave a paper trail for the IRS). I’m so saddened to see such blatant chicanery STILL around taking in the credulous nearly forty years later…

And…uhh…not to inflame your anger further or lead you into libelous temptation, but…did Paula White ever grace New Birth’s (varied) stages? Gotta admit, at least her vernacular doesn’t shift when back at her home church (even my seven year old son finds her affected speech patterns appalling)…

    ST,
This post brings up a dirty little secret that needs to be exposed about these false teachers as well. The Peter Popoff’s, Don Stewart’s, Leroy Jenkins’, et. al who are white seem to have more black people in their so called meetings than white people. To me there seems to be a hint of racism in the cynical way that they prey on african-american audiences. It also points to the failure of ministers like your ex-pastor and sad to say even my own pastor to properly feed the sheep. If they (african-american pastors) spent more time preaching sound doctrine, expositionally, so many people would not be sucked in by these scam artists. But instead of that, we worry about new sanctuaries, and armor bearers and making sure the sheeple remain subservient to the pastor’s “vision”. I understand your feelings of anger, righteous indignation should come forth from the true Church. We should be angry when we see people being led astray and used by these “clouds without rain”.

Bro K: I saw that clip. It will make you want to retch.
    ken: whew, Lord Jesus!
IST: thanks for accurately expressing my outrage at this degenerate wolf and serial spirital rapist.

    Brother K,

I’m going to search for that documentary at Blockbuster so that I can stoke my anger all weekend long 🙂

Also, I DO remember Paula White visiting “the mother ship” (as we used to call Club New Birth) and she was speaking in slang and speaking broken english to appease the crowd as well.

You know ken, I didn’t want to go “there” (primarily because folks may misconstrue my position in light of my disagreement with Black Liberation Theology), but I would agree that many (not all) “non-black” pulpit pimps prey on black audiences because many black pastors haven’t properly fed the sheep.

I know it’s controversial – but stay with me. My childhood pastor would hoop, holler, and sweat for 2 hours (literally), and then “open the doors of the church”. Plus, the black community has traditionally embraced their church homes and their pastors as a refuge from society – thus creating a trust that can hardly be broken, no matter how much their pastors have been in error.

Add an opportunistic “non-black” viper to the mix, and you’ve got a powder keg of false doctrine, money-grubbing, and “prophelying”.

The bottom line is that the sheep (black, white, and whatever) who claim the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ MUST study the Word for themselves so that they can see these degenerate losers coming a mile down the road.

Wow, I am sitting here literally laughing out loud at this article. THIS is one of the church’s that I was “slain in the spirit” in! LOL! I was living in Ft. Lauderdale at the time (summer 2004) and heard about his church on the radio. When I went to visit he had a “prophetess” (Dr. Deborah something or other from California) that said God told her she needed to sleep on their alter for 7 days to bring forth the millionaires in that particular church. She was dressed in this brown sack cloth garb every day that she was there. I went to visit and was so into wanting whatever they had to offer that I fell prey as well. The entire congregation was black, I was the only Latina. And the only person who was wealthy was the pastor. He even had a service that he was giving everyone $1. at the door to supposedly “sow” his prosperity anointing into our lives. HA! I used that dollar to add to what I had for gas because I was broke from giving as much as I could for this mess! He had the nerve to call my cell phone once (had written the number on one of the envelopes) to ask how I found his church, when I told him that I was engaged to be married he hurried with the convo and hung up. My Lord, I am soooooo grateful that the scales have fallen off!!! Whew!

If this degenerate pimp laid hands on you SFTT, I hope you checked to see if he rummaged through your purse while you were “slain”.

Thank God through Jesus Christ that you got away…

Haha..Nah, he didn’t lay hands on me, the “prophetess” was holding my hand when I fell backward and she actually did read what was going on with me, but I know now it wasn’t God. The devil knew what I was going through and she was spot on with her “word of knowledge”. How would anyone know that I was in the process of moving (finding my own apartment because I was staying with a friend) and every time I started to save money something would happen (like my car battery dying) that I had to use the money I saved to pay for something else. So she started to “prophecy” what the Lord was going to do. But it didn’t happen, I ended up moving back up north to be with my now estranged husband, had another baby and am going through a divorce because my husband wanted to go back to his old lifestyle. Anyway, even if Mundell did get to rummage through my purse, he wouldn’t have gotten much! Ugh, the thought of him still gives me the creeps, he was so perverted, I could see right through him.
