Controlling God With Our Words?

Hat tip to my brother Independent Conservative for introducing me to Youtubber bezel333 – a very astute student of the Word.

As I stated in a post last week, one of the most deceptive doctrinal assaults occurs when false teachers convince us that we can tell God what to do. We are erroneously taught that God is sitting in Heaven with His Hands in His pockets waiting for us to “release” Him into our circumstances. If God doesn’t “move”, then we’re told that our faith is weak.

This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS twisting of sound doctrine because it stunts the growth of immature believers (those new to the faith, and those who have been misled), and it relegates our Sovereign God to the role of the genie that lives in the bottle – or the bible.

Take look at this video. In it, bezel333 takes a closer look at Mark Chironna (one of the most effective false teachers in operation today, and – dare I say– a bonafide pulpit pimp because he advocates “paying God” for blessings and breakthroughs).

As I’ve said on many occasions, I used to subscribe to this deceptive teaching when I was submitted to a pulpit pimp, and I’ve had to repent AND return to the true Word of God to learn what He said.

I don’t wag my finger in pride, I bring this to your attention to aid you in learning the truth for yourself.

Watch the video in it’s entirety before you post a comment condemning or defending his twisted logic and butchering of scripture:

I pray that God continue to open all of our eyes so that we declare His Word correctly while pointing others to Him.

Very interesting. Like most Christians, I have been taught this many times over. My husband and I just relocated to Atlanta a year ago from Pittsburgh, PA. We left the teaching of Rev. Loran Mann, Senior Pastor of Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ. I must say, He definitely preached “Jesus ” every week! I miss this teaching. I have been searching for a church for our family (my husband is a full-time musician so he plays at a church), but have yet to find one where the pastor doesn’t preach like the gentleman in the video. Why is it that a lot of these preachers ramble on using one segment of scripture after another (not making any sense) in an attempt to “hoop?” The congregation goes crazy shouting and jumping, when in reality he really hasn’t said anything. Then at the end of the message they go back to telling you you have to give in order to be blessed!

    Lord help us!

    @ BeYou –

Thanks for stopping by. Most preachers twist scripture and “hoop” because it entertains the sheep – and that’s what the sheep want.

I mean, think about it: most people flock to the churches where the pastor is “known” and are swayed by his/her charismatic delivery. They’ll even follow the pastor if the church moves (e.g. Jakes moving from West Virginia or Weeks III moving from D.C.).

I have found some of the most bible-based and scripturally correct preachers are what many would consider “boring” – simply because they are delivering God’s Word with no filler.

    Imagine that…
