All that jumping and talk on Sunday mornings, if Eddie mentioned our ministry, we'd be happy if 50 men volunteered for mentoring. After a year, we'd be happy if 5 remained. And the few times Eddie would make a substantial donation to the cash strapped ministry, he made sure to do it in front of the entire assembly, for a nice show. Not very <a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=matt%206&version=49" rel="nofollow">Matthew 6</a>ish But back to this matter of persecution. I was listening to John MacArthur do some good exposition of Matthew 16:24 one day last week. <blockquote> Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. </blockquote> He was explaining, how in those times, speaking about a "cross" meant one thing CRUCIFIXION, DEATH. Jesus was literally saying His followers must TAKE IT ALL THE WAY TO GOVERNMENT MAKING YOU CARRY A CROSS AND HANGING YOU FROM IT. I mean that gives the verse new meaning. And the apostles all had to go that far with it in one form or another. I don't want to imagine being Liu Huiwen where he is right now. But we've <em>(we in luxury American Christians)</em> got to be girding ourselves. So if real persecution does befall us, we stand for Christ. We seem to think that the only persecution we'll experience as Christians is being ridiculed by others about the silliness that happens in our churches. I agree, and I too pray that the Lord's Will be done. I didn't know that Muslim chaplains are taking over American prisons - especially here in the ATL. I can't say that I'm surprised - we're too busy playing church games down here to be taken seriously. New Birth South has a shell of a prison ministry (1 minister and several volunteers out of 12,000 members), so what do you expect? You’re right. I didn’t know that Muslim chaplains are taking over American prisons - especially here in the ATL. I can’t say that I’m surprised - we’re too busy playing church games down here to be taken seriously.

We were promised persecution in this life, not millions and he's on the front line. It's sad to know our nation does anything with China. And for we consumers it's practically impossible to avoid their goods in stores. You do know, that here in America Muslims are taking over more prisons, EVEN IN THE ATLANTA AREA. There are some prisons EVEN IN THE ATLANTA AREA where the prison "chaplain" is Muslim. Oh, and they only allow one chaplain... That's right, there are prisons already where Christian ministry has been snuffed out, unless the inmates are doing it. That's what a brother who does prison ministry in the Atlanta area has told me.
